Egypt contains about 30 protectorates featuring rare biological and geological diversity. Among the most prominent are "Wadi El Hitan" (Valley of the Whales), "Ras Muhammad," "Zaranik," and Siwa. Greater Cairo also includes protectorates such as the "Petrified Forest" and "Wadi Degla." The protectorates extend from the "Nile Valley" to the Western and Eastern Deserts.
