When "Ptolemy I Soter" entered Egypt, he decided to merge the Egyptian and Greek civilizations, believing the start should be a common deity. Thus, "Serapis" was born, a god who combined the attributes of ancient Egyptian and Greek gods. The "Serapeum" temple was located on the "Acropolis of Alexandria" in the ancient "Rhakotis" district. Surrounded by walls, the temple included three porticoes and shrines dedicated to "Serapis," "Isis," and "Harpocrates," in addition to a Nilometer and a subsidiary library. However, the temple was destroyed, and two churches were built on its site. The "Serapeum of Alexandria" was a symbol of the meeting and diversity of cultures in a city that witnessed creative harmony between multiple civilizations.
