In the heart of Cairo, near "Al-Muizz Street," the "Coppersmiths' Market" emerged, an important center for a craft passed down through ages. This Egyptian craft dates back more than 3,500 years and evolved through civilizations, flourishing in the "Islamic Era." The market was distinguished by the art of inlaying copper with silver and gold, and by its artisans' unique terminology. Among the families that preserved this art are the "Anis" and "Al-Khawanki" families. The sounds of hammering can still be heard today in the "Slehdar Quarter."
