In 1907, under the direction of "Khedive Abbas Helmy II," the foundation stone was laid for a club dedicated to the men of the royal family, named the "Mohamed Ali Club." It was established on "Bustan Street" and designed by architect "Alexandre Marcel." After the "July Revolution," the royal family's shares were nationalized, but some members remained and elected a new board. In 1957, the property was put up for sale, at a time when the "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" was seeking a headquarters for a diplomatic club. In 1963, it was decided to acquire it for the ministry, and its name was changed to "The Egyptian Diplomatic Club."
